For you to get started with the software, you need to have a valid Animal Diet Formulator Subscription.

# Get Started

Welcome to Animal Diet Formulator, we are here to guide you in creating your first balanced recipe.

### Subscribe&#x20;

Before you start creating your first balanced recipe, we suggest subscribing to one of the subscription options that we offer.&#x20;

### Access the Application

Click [here](https://animaldietformulator.com/app-downloads) to download the Application or Acces the Web version of the Animal Diet Formulator Software.&#x20;

Once you have your application ready, sign in with your account using the email address and password that you provided upon subscribing to us.&#x20;

### Create Recipe

Start creating your recipes, by going to the Main Menu by clicking the similar icon below.

Then click the Formulate/Recipes menu item from the Main Menu.

Create your recipes by clicking the **New** button at the top left corner of the page.&#x20;

Once the pet owner is created, it will auto-select the pet owner that you created. Fill up the Create Pet form and click the **Save** button to create the Pet.

Once the pet is created, it will auto-select the pet that you created. Fill up the Create Recipe form and click the **Save** button to create the Recipe.

### Add Ingredients

Once the recipe is created, you will be redirected to the formulation page. On that page, click the **Add** button on the right side of the Ingredients section.

&#x20;Let's start by adding Meat, Fish, and Eggs such as Lean Beef.

Then, add some Organs.

# ADF V2 Subscriptions

We implement a new way for you to subscribe.

## New Subscriptions

Payment structures and options are laid out for you to choose based on your preferred way of paying.&#x20;

## Upgrading Subscription

With your current subscription, we now allow you to change your subscription with auto-discount on some of the cases.&#x20;

Below are the conditions and actions when upgrading your subscription

### From the Individual or the Professional Version with the old Payment Structure

### From Individual

* **To Professional**
  * If you paid Monthly:
    * Your current Payment and ADF Subscription will be canceled and activate the new Subscription version.
  * If you paid Upfront:
    * If your current subscription is less than 90 days from its activation period, we reduce the Professional Upfront price by the same amount you paid for the Individual Version. Once subscribed, both your current Payment and ADF Subscription will be canceled, and will activate the new Subscription version.
    * Otherwise, your current Payment and ADF Subscription will be canceled and will activate the new Subscription version.
* **To Commercial**
  * If you paid Monthly:
    * Your current Payment and ADF Subscription will be canceled and activate the new Subscription version.
  * If you paid Upfront:
    * If your current subscription is less than 90 days from its activation period, we reduce the Commercial Upfront price by the same amount you paid for the Individual Version. Once subscribed, both your current Payment and ADF Subscription will be canceled, and will activate the new Subscription version.
    * Otherwise, your current Payment and ADF Subscription will be canceled and will activate the new Subscription version.

### From Professional

* **To Commercial**
  * If you paid Monthly:
    * Your current Payment and ADF Subscription will be canceled and activate the new Subscription version.
  * If you paid Upfront:
    * If your current subscription is less than 90 days from its activation period, we reduce the Commercial Upfront price by the same amount you paid for the Individual Version. Once subscribed, both your current Payment and ADF Subscription will be canceled, and will activate the new Subscription version.
    * Otherwise, your current Payment and ADF Subscription will be canceled and will activate the new Subscription version.

## Downgrading Subscription

* Your current Payment Subscription will be canceled and create a new Subscription that will start on the Ending Date of the Current Subscription.&#x20;
* You will be able to use your current ADF subscription access until it expires. Your subscription will renew with the downgraded version.

## Canceling Subscription

### Version 2

* Annual, billed Monthly
  * As per End-User's License Agreement, once you want to cancel your subscription less than a year upon activation, you will need to pay the remaining months to complete the annual billing.&#x20;
  * Else, you can cancel anytime and we will disable your subscription at the end of its current period.
* Annual, billed Yearly
  * You can cancel anytime and we will disable your subscription at the end of its current period.

### Version 1

You can cancel anytime and we will disable your subscription at the end of its current period.

## Expired, Inactive, and Canceled Subscriptions&#x20;

We encourage you to re-subscribe with our new Payment Structure.

## What will happen to MPR (My Pet Recipes)

We disabled the My Pet Recipes subscription as we are working hard to fine-tune the MPR version. We will let you know when the MPR is back.  Below are the adjustments that we will do the current MPR Subscriptions.

### MPR Subscription Software Access

All MPR subscription access will be converted to Individual Version Access with an ending date of January 2, 2024. We are excited to let you know that you can enjoy the ADF Version 2 Software Individual Version with the **same amount of MPR**.

### MPR Subscription Payment

We will disable all the MPR Subscription Payment both in Stripe and PayPal. We encouraged you to subscribe to our new Payment Subscriptions.

## What will happen to the ADF V1 Subscription?

We are planning to deprecate all the ADF V1 Subscriptions in the coming years.

On **March 15, 2025**, the ADF V1 Subscriptions will be disabled and you are required to re-subscribe to the new Payment Subscription.&#x20;

Log in to your account to access all your secured pages.

To log in with your account, visit the Animal Diet Formulator website by clicking this link <https://animaldietformulator.com>.

Click the **Login** button at the top right corner of the website.

   * Provide the registered email address that you shared with us.&#x20;
2. Password
   * Provide the password you created and shared with us when you created your account.&#x20;
3. View Password button
   * Click the toggle icon button to show/hide the readable password.&#x20;
4. Remember Me
   * Toggle the checkbox if you want to remember your account and auto-sign into your account.&#x20;
5. Sign In button
   * Click this button to Sign In with your account after providing the valid Email Address and Password.&#x20;
6. Reset Password
   * This link will redirect you to the page where you can request to reset your password. Click [here](/members-area/profile/reset-password) to learn more.&#x20;

# User Dashboard

A summary of your account's information.

After you've signed in to your account, you will be redirected to the User's Dashboard.

### 1. User Profile Button

By clicking this button from any screen, you will be redirected to your user dashboard. Hovering your mouse over the button will show the  User's Menu to easily access all user-related private pages.&#x20;

### 2. Access ADF App button

Clicking this button will redirect you to the Web version of the Animal Diet Formulator where you can formulate your recipes.

This button will not be available if you don't have a valid and active subscription. Instead, there will be a button for you to access your Subscription information.&#x20;

### 3. User's Menu

This section lists all the user-related private pages. This menu is also accessible by hovering over the User Profile button at the top right corner of the page.&#x20;

### 4. Subscription Information

Provided here are the details about your current subscription including payment method, payment status, and renewal information.&#x20;

You may also click the View Current Subscription button to view all details about your current subscription.


# Reset Password

Forgot your password? It happens. You can reset and change your password here.

To log in with your account, visit the Animal Diet Formulator website by clicking this link <https://animaldietformulator.com>.

Click the **Login** button at the top right corner of the website.

After clicking the button, you will be redirected to the login page. Click the Reset Password link at the bottom of the login form.

Provide your email address in the Email Address input field (Item 1) then click the Submit button (Item 2).

After submitting your information, an email with instructions to change your password will be sent to the Email Address you provided.

Upload or Remove your photos using this section.

   * Click this button to open the File Dialog for you to choose the image that you want to use as your profile image.&#x20;
2. Remove Image
   * Click this button to Remove the current image. Saving without an image will load the default ADF Image icon.

### 2. Details Section

Update your primary information using the similar form below.&#x20;

   * Provide First Name.
2. Last Name
   * Provide Last Name.
3. Email Address
   * Provide the Email Address that you want to use as the primary identifier and username for signing in with your account.
4. Password
   * Provide the password that you want to use when signing in with your account. Leave the field empty if you don't want to change your password.
5. Country
   * Select your country.
6. State / TimeZone
   * Select your state if you are in USA else select the Timezone.
7. Preferred Version
   * Select the version of the software you are keen to subscribe to.&#x20;

# ADF Subscription

View and monitor your subscription with the new Subscription Page

To access your subscription, please be sure that you have signed in to your account.&#x20;

## Subscription Information

After clicking the Menu Item, you will be redirected to the Subscription Page. On this page, you can find the subscription Information.

1. Subscription Information
   * In this section, the Status, Payment Method (Stripe or PayPal), Payment Frequency (Annual or Monthly), Version Tag, and other related tags for your subscription are shown here.&#x20;
   * Subscription version and renewal information are also mentioned in this section.
2. The "Access ADF App" button
   * This button will allow you to open the Web version of the Software.
3. Actionable Buttons
   * In this section, related buttons for your subscription are added here.&#x20;
     * Learn More - You will be redirected to the Subscription Page.
     * Change Subscription - Downgrade or Upgrade your subscription using this button
     * Billing Settings - This button will be available for you if you are paying through Stripe.
     * View in PayPal - This button will open your PayPal Dashboard with related information about your paid subscription.
     * Cancel - This button will redirect you to the Cancellation Page.
4. Previous Subscription
   * This section will show the table of your previous subscriptions together with their tiers, start date, and end date.&#x20;
5. Related Invoices
   * This section will list the Invoices related to the Subscription. You can also view the invoices by clicking the corresponding "View" button at the right.

### Changing your current Subscription&#x20;

By clicking the "Change Subscription" button on the [subscription information](#subscription-information), you will be redirected to the Change Subscription page. On this page, you will have the option to downgrade or upgrade your current subscription.

1. Payment Frequency Dropdown
   * &#x20;This dropdown will toggle the payment information from Upfront to Monthly and vice-versa.
2. Version Section Button
   * This radio button will select and tag the subscription that you want to subscribe to.
3. Payment Section
   * This section will allow you to provide your payment details and proceed with changing your subscription.

### Cancel your current Subscription

By clicking the Cancel button on the [subscription information](#subscription-information), you will be redirected to the Cancellation Page. On this page, you can read more about the terms and conditions when you cancel your current subscription.

1. Cancel Button
   * This will process the cancellation of your subscription.
2. Back Button
   * This button will redirect you to the subscription information.&#x20;

A payment is required for the remaining months if you are paying "Annual, billed Monthly" and you want to cancel the subscription in less than a year.

# Pausing a Subscription

In this section, you will learn how to pause your subscription.

This feature is applicable for customers subscribed using Stripe only.

1. Submit a support ticket to confirm with our administrators whether you’re eligible to pause your subscription.
2. If you’re eligible, our team will notify you and provide details on how long you can pause your subscription. (Max. 6 months)
3. Once your request is approved, you can pause your subscription by going to your Dashboard, selecting the Products and Subscriptions tab

### Create a Sub-User

While in the Sub-Users page, you can create a sub-user by clicking the "Add Sub-user" (Item 2) button at the top right corner of the page similar to the Image above.&#x20;

After clicking the Add Sub-user button, you will be redirected to the Sub-User form similar to the image below.&#x20;

The form contains the following fields and button.&#x20;

1. First Name
   * First Name of the Sub-user for identification
2. Last Name
   * Last Name of the Sub-user for identification
3. Email Address
   * Email Address of the Sub-user. The email address should not be the same one used to access the ADF website.&#x20;
4. Password
   * The password that will be used by the Sub-user to access the Software.&#x20;
5. Phone Number
   * Phone number of the Sub-user for reference.&#x20;
6. Country
   * Country of the Sub-user for reference.&#x20;
7. State/Timezone
   * Provide the State when the sub-user is in USA else the TimeZone where the sub-user resides.
8. Add to Cart button
   * After completing the form, click the Add to Cart button to pay for the sub-user.

### Paying for the Sub-User

Once the Sub-user has been added to the cart, you can click the cart icon (Item 1) button at the top right similar to the image below to view the cart and checkout.

After clicking the Cart button, you will be redirected to the Checkout page similar to the image below.

The checkout cart consists of the following items:

1. Cart Summary
   1. In this section, you can view the items that you will be paying for.&#x20;
2. Discount Code&#x20;
   1. If you have a discount code provided by the ADF Team, you can use it here to apply the discount to your cart.
3. Card Details
   1. Provide your card details to continue with your payment. Our payment gateway is powered by Stripe.&#x20;
4. Pay Now button
   1. After providing the card details, click Pay Now to process your cart.&#x20;
5. PayPal button
   1. You can also purchase using PayPal by clicking this button and following the instruction that will pop up containing the PayPal payment dashboard.

After a successful payment, you will be redirected to the success page. On this page, you can find the Reference number (Item 1) please use this if contacting us with an inquiry. You will have the option to go back to Home Page (Item 2) or check your invoice (Item 3) as you may desire.&#x20;

You can also go back to the list of Sub-Users using the Item 4 button.

### Updating Sub-User

While on the Sub-users page, you can find the list of Sub-Users that you created. In each sub-user, you can find the corresponding update button similar to the image below.

Clicking the Update button will allow you to change the Sub-User information including the password. The form has the same fields when [creating the sub-user](#create-a-sub-user).&#x20;

### Removing Sub-User

While on the page containing the list of Sub-users, you can find the "Delete" button for each sub-user similar to the image below.&#x20;

After clicking the delete button, there will be a confirmation pop-up that will require your attention before we remove the sub-user. See the image below.&#x20;

   * This will redirect you to the User Limits page.&#x20;
2. Your Current Limit
   * This will give you information about your current limitations.
3. Your purchases:
   * This section will give you information about your purchases to increase your limits. You can also click the View to button to download the invoice.&#x20;
4. Increase Limit button
   * This button will redirect you to the page where you can then increase and purchase the limit.&#x20;

### Purchase and Increase the User Limits

While on the User Limits page, you can increase the limit by clicking the "Purchase Limit" (Item 4) button at the top right corner of the page similar to the Image above.&#x20;

After clicking the button, you will be redirected to the Increase on Limit selection similar to the image below.&#x20;

You can change the column "Set" to change the quantity to increase. You can see the dropdowns using the table (Item 1) similar to the image above.&#x20;

After setting the quantity, click the "Add to Cart" button (Item 2) to add the selection to your cart.&#x20;

### Paying for the Sub-User

Once the selection of increase of limit has been added to the cart, you can click the cart icon (Item 1) button at the top right similar to the image below to view the cart and checkout.

Here you can access your invoice history.

# Additional Information

This section provides step-by-step guidance on how to add supporting details to your invoices, ensuring clarity and completeness for your records and recipients.

1. To include additional information on your invoices, navigate to the Billing Settings. From your dashboard, you can access this by clicking either the **Products and Subscriptions** tab or the **Invoices** tab.

2. Next, click on the **Billing Settings** button

4. Once you're done, click on **Save Settings** button. You will see a success message upon completion.

# Billing Settings

This section will provide you information on how to change default payment methods

### Stripe

If you subscribed using Stripe, follow the steps below to change default payment method:

1. Hover to your account name on the top right, and click on either **Products and Subscriptions** tab or the **Invoices** tab

If you subscribed using PayPal, follow the steps below to change default payment method:

1. Go to the PayPal website and login to your account. Once logged in, click on the **Settings** (gear icon :gear:) on the top right

2. Next, click on the **Payments** tab, then click on **Automatic Payments**

# Pet Owners

This is where you can manage information for all pet owners or clients.

To start managing pet owners, you can go to Main Menu by clicking the similar icon below.

From the Pet Owners page, you can now create, update or delete pet owners. This page also lists all the pet owners you created. &#x20;

### Filter the Pet Owners

You can utilize the filter feature to search for a pet owner to update or delete. Click the filter button similar to the image below.

The filter form will be available for you to modify the default filter settings.

2. Sorting

   * This will control the direction of sorting the selected information at the sorting field.
4. Reset
   * Clicking this button will reset all the changes made.
5. Set Filter
   * Clicking this button will apply the preferred filters.

### Creating Pet Owners

Create a pet owner by clicking the **New** button at the top right corner of the page.&#x20;

### Updating Pet Owners

To update a pet owner’s information, you need to be on the Pet Owners Page. To go to the pet owners page, follow the steps mentioned [here](/animal-diet-formulator/pet-owners).

When you are already on the pet owners page, you can see the list of your pet owners. You can click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu). See the image below.

### Deleting Pet Owner

Every Pet Owner you create reduces your remaining reduces your remaining allowed number of Pet Owners. If you are not using a Pet Owner entry, we recommend deleting it.

To perform this action, you need to be on the Pet Owners Page. To go to the pet owners page, follow the steps mentioned [here](/animal-diet-formulator/pet-owners).

When you are on the pet owners page, you will see the list of your pet owners. You can click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu). See the image below.

After clicking the horizontal dots icon, you can click the delete button to remove the pet owner.

After clicking the delete button, there will be a confirmation pop-up that will require your attention before we remove the pet owner. See the image below.&#x20;

# Pets

This is the section where you can manage all of your pets.

### Pets List

To start managing your pets, you can go to Main Menu by clicking the similar icon below.

Then click the Pets menu item from the Main Menu.

From the Pets page, you can now create, update or delete your pets. This page also lists all the pets that you created. &#x20;

### Filter the Pets

You can utilize the filter feature to search for a pet to update or delete. Click the filter button similar to the image below.

The filter form will be available for you to modify the default filter settings.

The filter form contains the following fields.

1. Search&#x20;
   * This field will look for the term in the pet's name.
2. Pet Owner
   * Clicking the field will show a list of Pet Owners that are created in your account.
3. Pet Type
   * Clicking the field will show the options for Pet Type. (All, Dog and Cat).
4. Gender
   * Clicking the field will show the options for Pet's Gender. (All, Male, Female).
5. Sorting
   * Using this sorting, you can sort the items based on the selected field available.
6. Sorting Direction
   * This will control the direction of sorting the selected information at the sorting field.
7. Reset
   * Clicking this button will reset all the changes made.
8. Set Filter
   * Clicking this button will apply the preferred filters.

### Creating Pets

Start creating pets by clicking the **New** button at the top left corner of the page.&#x20;

When creating pets, provide the details specified in the form below.

1. Pet's Photo
   * Optional. Browse the pet's image by clicking the Select Image button. We recommend uploading less than 2MB in file size.&#x20;
2. Pet Owner&#x20;
   * Required. This field will allow you to identify the owner of the pet. Clicking the field will provide a list of Pet Owners that you created.
3. **New** Pet Owner button
   * This button will allow you to create a Pet Owner without leaving the form. Clicking this button will show the [Pet Owner's](/animal-diet-formulator/pet-owners#creating-pet-owners) form.
4. Name
   * Required. This is will be used to identify the Pet.
5. Pet Type
   * Required. Used to identify if the pet is a Dog or Cat.
6. Breed
   * Required. By default, the breed will be unknown, it is preferred to provide the breed for easy identification.
7. Gender
   * Required. Used to identify the gender of the pet. This will also be used in identifying the recipe's reproductive status
8. Birth Date
   * Optional. The default value is the current day.&#x20;
9. Save Button
   * Click the button to Save the Pet's Details

### Updating Pets

To update a pet’s information, you need to be on the Pets Page. To go to the Pets page, follow the steps [here](/animal-diet-formulator/pets).

When you are already on the pets page, you can see the list of the pets that you created. You can click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu). See the image below.

After clicking the horizontal dots icon, you can click the update button to view the form.

The Pet form will show pre-filled information for the Pet that you want to update. See the image below

After updating the field that you want to modify, click the save button at the bottom right part of the form.

### Deleting Pets

Every Pet you create reduces your remaining allowed number of Pets. If you are not using a Pet entry, we recommend deleting it.

# Ingredients

This is the section where you can manage your Ingredients and verify the details of each Animal Diet Formulator Ingredient

To start managing your ingredients, you can go to Main Menu by clicking the similar icon below.

Then click the Ingredients menu item from the Main Menu.

From the Ingredients page, you can now create, update or delete your ingredients. This page also lists all the ingredients that you created. &#x20;

### Filter the Ingredients

When you want to search for the ingredients that you want to update or delete, you can utilize the filter feature. Click the filter button similar to the image below.

The filter form will be available for you to modify the default filter settings.

The filter form contains the following fields.

1. Search&#x20;
   * This field will look for the term in the ingredient's name.
2. Sorting
   * You can sort the items based on the selected option for sorting.
3. Sorting Direction
   * This will control the direction of sorting of the selected information in the Sorting field.
4. Typical First
   * This field will sort all the ingredients based on the tag if the ingredient is an ADF Typical. To learn more about ADF Typicals, [click here](https://animaldietformulator.com/why-we-built-the-typical-ingredients).
5. Typical Ingredients
   * This field will filter the list of ingredients based on the selected value if the ingredient is an ADF Typicals.
6. Ingredient Source
   * This field will allow you to filter the ingredients by whether it is created by Animal Diet Formulator or by yourself.
7. Is Supplement
   * This field will filter the list of ingredients if it is tagged as Supplement or not.
8. Is Non-GMO
   * This field will filter the list of ingredients if it is tagged as Non-GMO or not.
9. Is Organic
   * This field will filter the list of ingredients if it is tagged as Organic or not.
10. State
    * This field will filter the list of ingredients based on the selected state value.
11. Category
    * &#x20;This will filter the ingredients based on the category selected.
12. Reset
    * Clicking this button will reset all the changes made.
13. Set Filter
    * Clicking this button will apply the preferred filters.

### Easy Filter of Ingredients you created

While at the listing page of Ingredients, you can filter the ingredients by clicking the Ingredient Source buttons similar to the image below.

### Creating Ingredients

Start creating your ingredients by clicking the **New** button at the top left corner of the page.&#x20;

When creating ingredients, provide the details specified in the form below.

1. Name
   * Required. Used to identify the ingredient.&#x20;
2. Code&#x20;
   * Required. Used as a sub-name of identification if there are two or more ingredients with the same name.
3. Main Categories
   * Required. The information provided will be used to categorize the ingredients and provide the Ingredient Summary information when formulating any recipe.&#x20;
4. Categories
   * Optional. The information below will be helpful to filter the ingredients. Multiple values are accepted.
5. Manufacturer
   * Optional. The information will be utilized as a reference for the manufacturer of the ingredient.
6. Locations
   * Optional. The countries where the ingredient is sourced from or is available. Multiple values are accepted.
7. State
   * Required. This field will tag ingredients about their state. Values can be Raw, Cooked, Powder, Oil/Liquid, Dried/Dehydrated/Freeze-Dried(FD)&#x20;
8. Supplement/Whole Food
   * Required. This field will tag the ingredients if it is a Supplement or Whole Food.
9. Is Non-GMO
   * Required. This field will tag the ingredients if it is a Non-GMO or not.
10. Is Organic
    * Required. This field will tag the ingredients if it is an Organic Ingredients or not.
11. &#x20;Material Data Sheet
    * Optional. This will be used as a reference only for the ingredient material information. You can upload an image or PDF.
12. Specification Sheet
    * Optional. This will be used as a reference only for the ingredient specification. You can upload an image or PDF.&#x20;
13. Data Source
    * Optional. You can provide a URL for the manufacturer information.&#x20;
14. Description
    * Optional. This is the field where you can provide additional information about the ingredient.
15. Save Button
    * Click the button to Save the Ingredient's Details

After you created the ingredient, you will have the option to set and update the nutrient value of the ingredient. To do this action we suggest filtering the ingredients that you created. See [instructions here](#filter-the-ingredients).&#x20;

### Ingredient Nutrients

After you enter the ingredient details, click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu) to enter nutrient values. See the image below.

After clicking the horizontal dots icon, you can click the nutrients button to view the form

The form will load the form for you to set and update the nutrients, you can select the preferred section that you want to update.

After you selected a section, you can provide the value for each nutrient.

After you've made the changes, you can click the **Save** button to save the information that you added.&#x20;

### Updating Ingredients

You might want to update the ingredient information. To do this, you need to be on the Ingredients Page. To go to the ingredients page, follow the steps mentioned [here](/animal-diet-formulator/ingredients).

When you are on the ingredients page, you can see the list of all ingredients. Click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu) to update the ingredient. See the image below.

The Ingredients form will show pre-filled with information based on the Ingredient that you want to update. See the image below

After updating the field that you want to modify, click the save button at the bottom right part of the form.

### Deleting Ingredients

You may wish to remove an ingredient that you are not using.&#x20;

To remove the ingredient, you need to be on the Ingredients Page. To go to the ingredients page, follow the steps mentioned [here](/animal-diet-formulator/ingredients).

When you are on the ingredients page, you can see the list of all ingredients. Click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu) to delete the ingredient. See the image below.

### Duplicating Ingredients

Duplicate any personal or ADF ingredient to modify and treat as a new Ingredient.

To do this action, you need to be on the Ingredients Page. To go to the page, follow the steps mentioned [here](/animal-diet-formulator/ingredients).

When you are on the ingredients page, click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu) to select duplicate. See the image below.

After clicking the horizontal dots icon, you can click the Duplicate button to re-create the ingredient.

After clicking the duplicate button, there will be a confirmation pop-up that will require your attention before we create the ingredient. See the image below.&#x20;

By confirming the duplication, the software will copy the specific ingredient with a suffix of "Copy" in its name.


# Compare Ingredients

Comparing Ingredients will help you to understand the differences in nutrients between two or more ingredients.

## Adding Ingredients

To compare ingredients, you need to add ingredients that you want to compare. Below are the ways to add ingredients

### 1. Add ingredients through the Ingredients Page

You need to be on the ingredients page. Click [here ](/animal-diet-formulator/ingredients)to learn how to go to the ingredients page.

On the ingredients page, click the three vertical dots to view the item menu. See the image below.

Select the Add to Compare options from the dropdown menu.&#x20;

This action will add the ingredient to the list of ingredients to compare. A pop-up message will prompt you if you want to proceed to view the ingredients that you want to compare.&#x20;

### 2. Add Ingredients while Formulating Recipes using the Ingredients Section panel

While on the formulation page, you can select ingredients from your recipe to compare. You can find the ingredients in the [Ingredients Section](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#ingredients-section).&#x20;

### 3. Add Ingredients while Searching for Ingredients to add or adjust.

While searching for ingredients to add to your recipe, you can also add them to compare. Use the same steps as in [Action 1.](#1.-add-ingredients-through-the-ingredients-page)&#x20;

## Compare Ingredients

Once you add an ingredient, the software will prompt you if you want to open the Compare Ingredients. If you selected no, you can still open the Compare Ingredients Modal from the Main Menu Item.&#x20;

The item menu will show an indicator if there are ingredients that you can compare.  Clicking the menu item opens the Compare Ingredients Modal. See the image below.

1. Instruction Icon Button
   * Clicking this icon will provide more details on how to use the Compare Ingredients Modal.&#x20;
2. Search Bar
   * Provide the name of the nutrient that you want to compare. This will filter the nutrients instead of scrolling the whole page.&#x20;
3. Name of the Ingredient
   * Double-click the ingredient to remove the item from the list of ingredients to compare
4. Remove All button
   * Click the button to remove all the ingredients.
5. Close button
   * Click the button to close the Compare Ingredients Modal.


# Compare Recipes

Comparing recipes will help you to understand the differences in nutrients of the two or more recipes.

## Adding Recipes

To compare recipes, you need to add recipes that you want to compare. Below are the ways to add recipes.

### 1. Add recipes through the Recipes Page

You need to be on the recipes page. Click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes#recipes-list) to learn how to go to the recipes page.

On the recipes page, click the three vertical dots to view the item menu. See the image below.

Select the Add to Compare options from the dropdown menu.&#x20;

This action will add the recipes to the list of recipes to compare. A pop-up message will prompt you if you want to proceed to view the recipe that you want to compare.&#x20;

### 2. Add recipes through Recipe Formulation Menu

You can add the current state of the recipe to the list of recipes to compare. To do this, click the "Compare" menu item from the [Formulation Menu](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#formulation-menu-section) Section.

## Compare Recipes

Once you add a recipe, the software will prompt you if you want to open the Compare Recipes pop-up. If you selected no, you can still open the Compare Recipes pop-up from the Main Menu Item.&#x20;

The item menu will show an indicator if there are recipes that you can compare.  Clicking the menu item opens the Compare Recipes pop-up. See the image below.

# Estimators

Generate an ingredient based on a source with an estimated value for its nutrients

### Estimated Ingredients List

To start managing your ingredients with estimated nutrients, you can go to Main Menu by clicking the similar icon below.

Then click the Estimators menu item from the Main Menu.

From this Estimators page, you can now create, update or delete your ingredients with estimated nutrients.&#x20;

### Filter the Ingredients

Utilize the filter feature to search for ingredients to update or delete. Click the filter button similar to the image below.

   * Clicking this button will reset all the changes made.
6. Set Filter
   * Clicking this button will apply the preferred filters.

### Creating Ingredients

Start creating ingredients with estimated nutrients by clicking the **New** button at the top left corner of the page.&#x20;

When creating the ingredients, you need to provide the details mentioned in the form below.

1. Source
   * Required. Select the Estimator Source from the options that you preferred to use as a base.
2. Name
   * Required. Provide the name you want to give the ingredient to easily identify the item.
3. Proteins %
   * Required. Provide the amount of Protein Percentage to use for the new ingredient. Use the product-guaranteed analysis, either provided by the manufacturer or obtained through laboratory analysis.
4. Fats %
   * Required. Provide the amount of Fat Percentage to use for the new ingredient. Use the product-guaranteed analysis, either provided by the manufacturer or obtained through laboratory analysis.
5. Nutrients Section
   * After saving the ingredient, the estimated ingredient will be shown in this section. The software will calculate other nutrient values based on the protein and fat percentages entered, making the ingredient usable in the formulation.
6. Save Button
   * Click the button to Save the Ingredient's Details

### Updating Ingredients

To update the ingredient information. You need to be on the Estimators Page. To go to the estimators' page, follow the steps mentioned [here.](#measurements-list)

On the ingredients page, you can see the list of items that you created. Click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu). See the image below.

After clicking the horizontal dots icon, you can click the update button to view the form.

The same for creating new Ingredients, the form will show up with pre-filled information based on the item that you want to update. See the image below.

After updating the field that you want to modify, click the save button at the bottom right part of the form.

As you might notice, there are some items added when you are updating the ingredient.&#x20;

1. Save as Ingredient
   * This action will allow you to create a new Ingredient with the estimated nutrients that are generated at item 2. Clicking this button will open the Creating Ingredient Form. Click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/ingredients#creating-ingredients) to have information about the Ingredient form.
2. Nutrient Sections
   * Click each Nutrient Section tab to view the estimated nutrients that are generated based on the selected Source, Proteins %, and Fats %.

### Deleting Ingredients

You can delete ingredients you are not using.

To do this action, you need to be on the Estimated Ingredients Page. To go to the page, follow the steps mentioned [here](#measurements-list).

When you are on the page, you can see the list of created ingredients. Click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu) to select delete. See the image below.

After clicking the horizontal dots icon, you can click the delete button to remove the Estimator ingredient.

# Measurements

Extend the default measurements provided by the software. Create and use your custom measurements.

Animal Diet Formulator has default units for adding ingredients which are Kilograms, Grams, Pounds, and Ounces. More units will be added soon. This section will allow you to extend the measurements that you can use.&#x20;

### Measurements List

To start managing your measurements, you can go to Main Menu by clicking the similar icon below.

Then click the Measurements menu item from the Main Menu.

From the Measurements page, you can now create, update or delete your custom measurements.&#x20;

### Filter the Measurements

The filter feature to search for measurements that you want to update or delete. Click the filter button similar to the image below.

The filter form will be available for you to modify the default filter settings.

The filter form contains the following fields.

1. Search&#x20;
   * This field will look for the term in the measurement's name.
2. Owner Type
   * Clicking the field will show the options for Owners. The options are ADF or Personal. Selecting Personal will show the measurements that you created.&#x20;
3. Sorting
   * Using this sorting, you can sort the items based on the selected field available.
4. Sorting Direction
   * This will control the direction of sorting the selected information at the sorting field.
5. Reset
   * Clicking this button will reset all the changes made.
6. Set Filter
   * Clicking this button will apply the preferred filters.

### Creating Measurements

Start creating your measurements by clicking the **New** button at the top left corner of the page.&#x20;

When creating the measurements, you need to provide the details mentioned in the form below.

1. Unit Name
   * Required. Provide a Complete Name for your unit. (e. g. Teaspoon)&#x20;
2. Unit Short Name
   * Required. Provide the short name of your unit. (e. g. tsp).
3. Amount
   * Required. Provide the amount or weight based on the Conversion Unit.
4. Conversion Unit
   * Required. This will be the unit where the amount will be based. Options are the measurements available as a source.
5. Save Button
   * Click the button to Save the Measurement's Details

### Updating Measurements

To update the measurement information. You need to be on the Measurements Page. To go to the measurements page, follow the steps mentioned [here.](#measurements-list)

When you are on the measurements page, you can see the list of the pets that you created. Click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu). See the image below.

After clicking the horizontal dots icon, you can click the update button to view the form.

The same creating new Measurements form will show up with pre-filled information based on the item that you want to update. See the image below.

After updating the field that you want to modify, click the save button at the bottom right part of the form.

### Deleting Measurements

You can delete measurements that you are not using.

To delete measurements, you need to be on the Measurements Page. To go to the page, follow the steps mentioned [here](#measurements-list).

When you are on the measurements page, you can see the list of created measurements. Click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu) to show the action options. See the image below.

After clicking the horizontal dots icon, you can click the delete button to remove the measurement.

# Recipes

Create and formulate your balanced, biologically appropriate pet food Recipe

### Recipes List

To start managing your recipes, go to Main Menu by clicking the similar icon below.

Then click the Recipes menu item from the Main Menu.

From the Recipes page, you can now create, update or delete your recipes.&#x20;

### Filter the Recipes

Utilize the filter feature to search for recipes to update or delete. Click the filter button similar to the image below.

The filter form will allow you to modify the default filter settings.

The filter form contains the following fields.

1. Search&#x20;
   * This field will look for the term in the Recipe's name.
2. Sorting
   * Using this sorting, you can sort the items based on the selected field available.
3. Sorting Direction
   * This will control the direction of sorting based on the selected information at the Sorting field.
4. Pet Owners
   * This will provide you with the list of Pet Owners that you created in which you can filter the recipes related to the specific pet owner/client you have.
5. Pets
   * This will provide you with the list of Pets that you created in which you can filter recipes related to the specific pets you have.
6. Dog Activity Level
   * This will provide you with the Activity Levels related to the Dog Pet Type.&#x20;
7. Cat Activity Level
   * This will provide you with the Activity Levels related to the Cat Pet Type.&#x20;
8. Pet Type
   * This will allow you to filter your recipes based on the Pet Type. It could be Dog, Cat, or All.
9. Atwater Type
   * This will allow you to filter your recipes based on the Atwater Type setting of the recipes.
10. Diet Standard
    * This will allow you to filter your recipes based on the Diet Standard that you set for each recipe.&#x20;
11. Reset
    * Clicking this button will reset all the changes made.
12. Set Filter
    * Clicking this button will apply the preferred filters.

While at the listing page of Recipes, you can filter the recipe by clicking the Pet Type buttons similar to the image below.

### Creating Recipes

Start creating your recipes by clicking the **New** button at the top left corner of the page.&#x20;

When creating the recipes, you need to provide the details mentioned in the form below. The recipe form contains 3 sections which are The Pet Details, Recipe Details, and Instructions.

**The Pet Details**

Most of the fields below are required when creating a recipe.&#x20;

1. Pet
   * Required. Clicking the field will show you the list of Pets that you created. The list will have the same functionalities similar to the Pets page. [Click here](/animal-diet-formulator/pets#pets-list) to learn more about the Pets page.&#x20;
2. Set Generic
   * For the commercial subscription, you will have the ability to set a generic pet. Clicking the button will remove the selected pet and set it to Generic. You can still select the pet by clicking the Pet field.
3. New Pet
   * Clicking the button will allow you to create a new Pet. After creating the pet, it will auto-select the created pet.
4. Reproductive Status
   * Required. Clicking the field will provide the possible value for the Reproductive Status of the selected Pet. The default value is unknown.
5. Is Keto
   * Required. This is the tag if the recipe is Keto based recipe
6. Weight Type
   * Required. This will field will identify if the value provided in the Current Weight and Desired Weight is a Kilogram or Pounds.
7. Current Weight
   * Optional. The current weight of the Pet.
8. Desired Weight
   * Optional. The desired weight of the Pet. This will help the formulator to calculate the feeding amount per day.

  * Since you are creating a recipe for a generic pet, you are required to set the Pet Type if it is a Dog or Cat.
* New Pet
  * Clicking the button will allow you to create a new Pet. After creating the pet, it will auto-select the created pet.
* Weight Type
  * Required. This will field will identify if the value provided in the Current Weight and Desired Weight is a Kilogram or Pounds.
* Current Weight
  * Optional. The current weight of the Pet.
* Desired Weight
  * Optional. The desired weight of the Pet. This will help the formulator to calculate the feeding amount per day.

**Recipe Details**

The form below will allow you to set the conditions for formulating the recipe.

1. Name
   * Required. Name of the Recipe.&#x20;
2. Diet Standard
   * Required. Clicking the field will allow you to select your preferred standards such as AAFCO or FEDIAF.&#x20;
3. Atwater Type
   * Required. Clicking the field will allow you to select your preferred Atwater Type.&#x20;
4. Activity Level

   * Required. Clicking the field will provide a list of Activity Levels based on the Pet Type. This field will auto-select the first option when you change Pet or Pet Type in the Pet Details section.

5. Cooking Method.&#x20;
   * Required. Clicking this field will provide a list of options for the Cooking Method. Selecting Freeze-Dried or Dehydrated will require you to provide the Retained Moisture percentage.
6. Medical Conditions
   * Optional. This field will allow you to tag the pet with possible Medical Conditions.&#x20;

**Instructions for Preparing the Recipe**

1. Instructions
   * This field will allow you to provide the details on how to prepare the recipe that you are creating. This information will be included when generating reports.
2. Save Button
   * Click the button to Save the Measurement's Details

### Deleting Recipes

Every recipe that you create consumes your allowed number of Recipes. In the event you are not using one of your recipes, we recommend deleting the unused recipe.&#x20;

To do this action, similar to updating the recipe you need to be on the Recipes Page. To go to the page, follow the steps mentioned[ here.](#recipes-list)

When you are on the recipes page, you can see the list of created recipes. Click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu) to show the options for the specific item. See the image below.

### Duplicating Recipes

To duplicate a recipe, you need to be on the Recipes Page. To go to the page, follow the steps mentioned[ here.](#recipes-list)

When you are on the recipes page, you can see the list of created recipes. Click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu) to show the options. See the image below.

After clicking the horizontal dots icon, select Duplicate to re-create the recipe.

After clicking the duplicate button, there will be a confirmation pop-up that will require your attention before we create the recipe. See the image below.&#x20;

By confirming the duplication, the software will copy the specific recipe with a suffix of "Copy" in its name.

### Save As a new Recipe

You can duplicate a recipe under a different name by using the Save As feature.

To do this action, similar to updating the recipe you need to be on the Recipes Page. To go to the page, follow the steps mentioned[ here.](#recipes-list)

When you are on the recipes page, you can see the list of created recipes. Click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu) to show the options for the specific item. See the image below.

After clicking the horizontal dots icon, select the "Save As" button to re-create the recipe.

After clicking the menu item, the pop-up will ask you to provide the new name of the recipe. After you provide the name, click the Save button at the bottom right of the form to create a new recipe.

# Formulation

Formulate your recipe by adding ingredients and balance it by adjusting the amounts.

Start formulating recipes by going to the Recipes page.

To go to the page, follow the steps mentioned[ here.](#recipes-list)

You can see the list of created recipes when you are on the recipes page. Click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu) to show the action options for the specific item. See the image below.

After clicking the horizontal dots icon, click the "Formulation" button to formulate the recipe.

Before you start formulating, we would like you to get familiar with the 3 Formulation sections on the Formulation page. The sections are the [Ingredients Section](#ingredients-section), [Formulation Menu Section](#formulation-section), and [Nutrients Section](#nutrients-section).

### Ingredients Section

This section will allow you to manage the ingredients for the current Recipe. See the image below for a key to the Ingredients Section functions.

1. Sorting Tag
   * This will indicate the current sorting applied to the ingredients. To learn more about sorting click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/ingredients-sorting).
2. Modified Tag
   * This tag indicates that the current recipe has been modified.&#x20;
3. Show summary toggle
   * This toggle button will allow you to show or hide a compressed list of ingredients and basic measurements. This toggle is also available in the Formulation View Settings.&#x20;
4. Add Ingredients
   * Clicking the button will show a pop-up containing the ingredients list for you to add to your current recipe. Clicking the ingredient from the list will select the ingredient that you want to add. To learn more on how to manage the ingredients list, please click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/ingredients).
5. Recipe Summary
   * This scrollable horizontal list of tags shows the total weight based on the indicated unit. This section will allow monitoring of the current weight of your recipe.
6. Ingredient Weights
   * This information will show the current weight of the specific ingredient
7. Ingredient Name
   * This section contains the name of the ingredient.
8. Ingredient Menu
   * Clicking this icon will show the Ingredient Menu. To learn more about the ingredients menu, click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/recipe-ingredients).
9. Ingredient Toggle
   * This toggle button will enable or disable the ingredient for the specific recipe. This is helpful to easily view the effect on the recipe when you remove an ingredient.
10. Ingredient Weight Input
    * This form will allow you to modify the weight of the ingredient. Below are the basic keyboard shortcuts to easily adjust the weight.
      * (Ctrl *⊞* or Cmd ) + Arrow Up  (Increase the weight by 1)
      * (Ctrl *⊞* or Cmd ) + Arrow Down  (Decrease the weight by 1)
      * (Ctrl *⊞* or Cmd ) + Left Shift + Arrow Up  (Increase the weight by 10)
      * (Ctrl *⊞* or Cmd ) +  Left Shift + Arrow Down  (Decrease the weight by 10)
      * (Ctrl *⊞* or Cmd ) + Left Shift + (Alt *⊞* or Opt )  + Arrow Up  (Increase the weight by 100)
      * (Ctrl *⊞* or Cmd ) +  Left Shift + (Alt *⊞* or Opt ) + Arrow Down  (Decrease the weight by 100)
11. Ingredient Weight Unit
    * This will indicate the current unit of weight provided for each ingredient. Clicking the field will show a list of Units that are available for you to use. To learn more about measurements, click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/measurements).
12. Costing per Unit (Commercial Subscription Only)
    * This form will allow you to provide the cost of ingredients per Costing Unit field. Please be reminded that the currency of the field is dynamic and will base on your default currency.
13. Costing Unit (Commercial Subscription Only)
    * This field will indicate the current unit for Costing. Clicking the field will show a list of Units that are available for you to use. To learn more about measurements, click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/measurements).

### Formulation Menu Section

The tools above the Formulation page will assist you in formulating the recipe.

1. Undo
   * This button will undo the changes that you have done.
2. Redo
   * Use this button if you wish to reverse an undo action.&#x20;
3. Update
   * This button will show the form for you to update the recipe information. Click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes#updating-recipes) to learn more about updating the recipe.
4. Save
   * This button will save the current recipe to the server database. It includes the recipe information, ingredients, and other related information about the recipe.
5. Save As
   * This button will save a new recipe with the current recipe information. This will ask for the new Recipe Name. Click [here ](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes#save-as-new-recipe)to learn more about saving as a new recipe.
6. Resize
   * This button will allow you to resize the recipe to a specific weight and unit. Click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/recipe-resize) to learn more about resizing the recipe.
7. Sort
   * This button will allow you to sort the ingredients. Click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/ingredients-sorting) to learn more about sorting recipe ingredients.
8. Summary
   * This button will allow you to view the summary by Main Categories. Click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/ingredient-summary) to learn more about Recipe's Ingredient Summary.
9. Caloric Data
   * This button will show you the Caloric Data applied to the Recipe. It will also allow you to provide the desired percentage to adjust the nutrients. Click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/caloric-data) to learn more.
10. Ingredient Details
    * This button will show the detailed percentage or values of each nutrient per ingredient. Click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/ingredient-nutrients-details) to learn more.
11. Reports
    * This button will allow you to create and download PDF or Excel Report for you to print the recipe. Click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/reports) to learn more about Recipe Reports.
12. View Settings
    * This button will allow you to toggle the view of the Ingredients Section and Nutrients Section. To learn more click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation-view-settings).
13. Compare Recipes
    * This button will allow you to add the current recipe for you to compare with other recipes. Click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/compare-recipes) to learn more.&#x20;
14. Export Recipe
    * This button will allow you to export the current recipe to an "ADF" File (.adf). This file can be imported back into the ADF software. Click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/export) to learn more.&#x20;

### Nutrients Section

Recipe Information and Formulated Nutrients are shown in this section.&#x20;

1. Ingredient Information
   * This section gives an overview of the important details of the Recipe.
2. Weight Type for the Pet Weights
   * This field determines the weight unit of the Desired Weight and the Current Weight of the Pet. Clicking the field will show the options for Pet Weights.
3. Current Weight of the Pet
   * This field is used as a reference for the Current weight of the Pet.
4. Desired Weight of the Pet
   * o The value entered in this field will be used as a reference to calculate the Feeding amount per day and other Macronutrient Analyses.
5. Cooking Method
   * In this field, indicate if you want to apply a Cooking Method for your recipe. Click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/cooking-method) to learn more.
6. New Moisture Percentage
   * o The value entered in this field will be used when applying the Cooking Method for Dehydrated and Freeze-Dried recipes.
7. Nutrient Tab Sections
   * Clicking the tab header will change the tab content to the preferred Section such as the Minerals, Vitamins, and others.
8. Nutrient Information
   * The contents provided here are the nutrients based on the selected Nutrient Tab Section.&#x20;

This section will give you a summary of the Macro and Micro Nutrients that help you to balance your recipe.

Change the view by clicking the desired Nutrient Section. The green bar (Item 1 from the below Image) will underline the selected Nutrient Section.

By default, the Macronutrients Section will be displayed, including the Macronutrient Analysis and other Macronutrient Information (Item 5 from the below Image).&#x20;

The Macronutrient Analysis shows the As Formulated value (Item 2), Dry Matter - by removing moisture - (Item 3), and Percentage kcal (Item 4).

Clicking the Minerals, Vitamins, Fats, and Amino Acids will change the view to the desired section.&#x20;

Below are the columns for each section:

1. Name of the Nutrient
2. Unit of the Nutrient
3. Minimum requirement based on the selected Standard (AAFCO or FEDIAF)
4. Maximum requirement based on the selected Standard (AAFCO or FEDIAF)
5. Value of the nutrient based on the Recipe
6. Dry Matter value based on the Recipe (This is available only for Professional and Commercial Version)
7. Total Amount value of the nutrient
8. Daily Amount needed based on the Desired Weight
9. Amount to Adjust value.

If there is a value in the Amount to Adjust column (Item 2 from the Image below) it indicates that the nutrient is not balanced.

We also added a Red Exclamation Mark in Triangle beside the Nutrient Section (Item 1 from the Image below) to indicate that the section has an unbalanced nutrient.

Double-click the "Amount to Adjust" value of a specific nutrient to list the suggested ingredients (listed in decreasing order of the content of that nutrient) to auto-balance the recipe.&#x20;

# Recipe Ingredients

Below are the ingredient action options.

### Adding Ingredients

Start adding ingredients by clicking the Add button in the[ Ingredients Section](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#ingredients-section). See the image below.

After clicking the Add button a pop-up will show containing the ingredients list. Click ingredients from the list to add to the recipe. To learn more on how to manage the ingredients list, please click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/ingredients).

After selecting the ingredient, a pop-up will show for you to provide the weight (required) and cost (optional) of the ingredient.

1. Unit
   * In this field, identify the unit of weight of the selected ingredient. Clicking here will list the measurements available for you. To add more units, please click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/measurements).
2. Amount
   * Provide the numerical value of the weight of the selected ingredient.
3. Costing Unit&#x20;
   * In this field, identify the unit of the cost of the selected ingredient.&#x20;
4. Cost
   * Provide a numerical value here for use in calculating the whole recipe cost.
5. Set button
   * This button will add the selected ingredient to the recipe together with the provided values from this form.&#x20;

After adding the ingredients, you will still have the option to change the information that you provided.&#x20;

### Ingredient Information

To view the specific ingredient information and nutrients while formulating, click the three vertical dots to view the Ingredient Menu.

In the ingredients Menu, click the Information menu item to view the Ingredient Information.

1. Ingredient Information Tab Buttons
   * Clicking the tab buttons will change the content shown in the Tab Content.&#x20;
2. Ingredient Information Tab Content
   * This will display the ingredient information or the ingredient nutrients based on the selected Tab button.

### Ingredient Measurements

To view more measurement value of the specific ingredient, click the three vertical dots to view the Ingredient Menu.

In the Ingredients Menu, click the View Measurements menu item to view the other units of weight.

### Add to Compare Ingredients

To add the ingredient for comparison with other ingredients, click the three vertical dots to view the Ingredient Menu.

In the Ingredients Menu, click the Add to Compare menu item to add the ingredient for comparison with the other ingredients.

This action will add the ingredient to the list of ingredients to compare. A pop-up message will prompt you if you want to proceed to view the ingredients that you want to compare.&#x20;

### Removing Ingredients

To remove the ingredients from the Recipe, click the three vertical dots to view the Ingredient Menu.

In the Ingredients Menu, you can click the Remove menu item to remove the ingredient from the Recipe.

# Ingredients Sorting

Ingredient Sort is a useful tool to order the ingredients according to weight or a custom order.

To sort the Recipe Ingredients, click the Sort menu item from the [Formulation Menu](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#formulation-menu-section) Section.

Clicking the button will show the pop-up containing the options for Sorting.&#x20;

The options for sorting are as follows.

1. Sort by Weight Ascending
   * Clicking this option will sort the ingredients by weight in Ascending Order.
2. Sort by Weight Descending
   * Clicking this option will sort the ingredients by weight in Descending Order.
3. Sort by Custom
   * Clicking this option will show a pop-up. Where ingredients can be arranged as desired.&#x20;

### Sorting ingredients by Custom

Below is the pop-up that will show when the Sort by Custom option is selected.&#x20;

1. Grab Icon and Ingredient Name
   * Click and drag the row to re-order the ingredients
2. Apply button
   * Click to Apply the custom sorting of ingredients
3. Close Button
   * Click to disregard the sorting of ingredients.

The sort icon in the [Ingredients Section](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#ingredients-section) indicates the sort type selected.

After updating the amount of any ingredient, the sorting of ingredients will automatically change to Custom to avoid movements of ingredients.

# Recipe Resize

We suggest formulating in smaller sizes and adjusting the recipe to the preferred size.

Resizing is a useful tool to adjust your recipe. To resize the recipe click the Resize menu item from the [Formulation Menu](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#formulation-menu-section) Section.

1. Resize Type
   * Clicking the button will show the options for resizing. You can resize the recipe by days, kCal, Grams, Kilograms, Ounces, and Pounds.&#x20;
2. Amount
   * Provide the amount based on the Resize Type.&#x20;
3. Resize button
   * Click the button after you have selected the Resize Type and you provide the Amount to resize.&#x20;


# Ingredient Summary

View each ingredient’s contribution to Macronutrients using this tool.

To check the Ingredient Summary, click the Summary menu item from the [Formulation Menu](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#formulation-menu-section) Section.

# Caloric Data

This tool compares the micronutrient information in the recipe to FEDIAF and/or  AAFCO standards.

To view the caloric data, click the Caloric Data menu item from the [Formulation Menu](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#formulation-menu-section) Section.

Clicking the button will show the pop-up containing the Caloric Data information. The information contains 5 Sections.

#### 1. Micronutrients Sections

Click each section tab of micronutrients to view the information for the selected section.

#### 2. Recipe Micronutrients

Check the Micronutrient values in the recipe and in the standards.

Recipe: This column indicates the amount of each nutrient in the recipe per 1000 kcal.

Total Amount: This column indicates the total amount of each nutrient in the entire recipe.

#### 3. Desired Percentage

You can provide a percentage value to adjust the recipe based on the micronutrients. You are also allowed to provide a negative value for the percentage adjustment.&#x20;

#### 4. Amount to Adjust

These are the values needed to meet the selected standard either AAFCO, FEDIAF or a provided Desired Percentage.

#### 5. Standard Values

Standard values are provided for comparison against recipe values. If you provide a value for the Desired Percentage, an indicator will be added in the [Recipe Nutrients](file:///animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation%23nutrients-section) section. Hover over the indicator to view the percentage applied.

# Ingredient Nutrients Details

Identify the ingredients that contribute to the Recipe Nutrients.

To view the ingredient nutrient details, click the "Ing Details" menu item from the [Formulation Menu](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#formulation-menu-section) Section.

# Reports

Generate Downloadable Reports to print and share in PDF or Excel Format.

### Report Templates List

To create report templates to download,  click the "Reports" menu item from the [Formulation Menu](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#formulation-menu-section) Section.

After clicking the menu item, a pop-up will appear for managing the report templates.&#x20;

#### 1. New Button

From the report templates pop-up, create a new Report Template by clicking the New button

#### 2. Filter Button

Filter the list of report templates for each recipe using the "Filter Button".

### Filter the Report Templates

Utilize the filter feature to search for report templates. Click the filter button similar to the image below.

The filter form allows modification of the default filter settings.

The filter form contains the following fields.

1. Sorting
   * You can sort the items based on the selected field.
2. Sorting Direction
   * This will control the direction of the selected sort type in the "Sorting" field.
3. Reset
   * Clicking this button will reset all the changes made.
4. Set Filter
   * Clicking this button will apply the preferred filters.

### Creating Report Templates

Start creating a report template by clicking the **New** button at the top left corner of the pop-up.

When creating the report templates, provide the details specified in the form below.

1. Logo&#x20;
   * Upload your logo that will be added when generating the report.
2. Watermark
   * Optional. Upload any image that you want to be inserted as a watermark for your reports.
3. Resize Type
   * Similar to the [Recipe Resizing](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/recipe-resize), you can set a resizing for your report. Start by selecting the type.
4. Resize Value
   * Similar to the [Recipe Resizing](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/recipe-resize), after selecting the resize type, provide the preferred resize value.
5. Color
   * Select the color to have it associated with your brand. Click [here](/animal-diet-formulator/utility/color-picker) on how to use the Color Picker.
6. Instructions
   * You can update the instructions provided when you [created the recipe](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes#creating-recipes). This will apply only to the report and will not override the instructions associated with the recipe.
7. Save Button
   * Click the save button to create the report template

### Updating Recipe Report Template

To update the recipe report template, go to the Recipe Reports Pop-Up. To go to the recipe reports list, follow the steps [here](#report-templates-list).

When you are on the recipe reports list, click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu). See the image below.

The Recipe Report form will show pre-filled information based on the item to be updated. See the image below.

After updating fields, click the save button at the bottom right part of the form.

### Deleting Recipe Report Template

To remove a recipe report template, go to the Recipe Reports List. To go to the list, follow the steps mentioned [here](#report-templates-list).

When on the recipe reports list, click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu) to show the options of action for the specific item. See the image below.

After clicking the horizontal dots icon, you can click the delete button to remove the recipe report template.

After clicking the delete button, there will be a confirmation pop-up that will require your attention before we remove the recipe report template. See the image below.&#x20;

### Download the Recipe Report

To download the report to print and share, you need to be on the Recipe Reports Pop-Up. To go to the recipe reports list, follow the steps mentioned [here](#report-templates-list).

When on the recipe reports list, click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu). See the image below.

After clicking the horizontal dots icon, click the "Download PDF" or "Download Excel"  button to download the file.

# Formulation View Settings

We added a new layout or view for the Nutrients that aligns with Steve Brown's Presentation Layout. We also added some toggles to hide or show selected Macronutrient information.

To view the settings for the new views, click the "Settings" menu item from the [Formulation Menu](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#formulation-menu-section) Section.

After clicking the button, the View Settings pop-up will show up.&#x20;

#### 1. Show Ingredient List Summary

This toggle button is to show/hide the compact list of ingredients in the [Ingredients Section.](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#ingredients-section)

The same toggle button is also in the [Ingredients Section.](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#ingredients-section) Please see the below image.

Press (Ctrl *⊞* or Cmd ) + A, to toggle the Ingredient List Summary

#### 2. Show / Hide Presentation Layout

This layout is also known as Steve's Presentation Layout. Turning on this view will change the [Nutrients Tab Sections](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#nutrients-section).

By default, it will show the macronutrients. Please see the image below.

#### 3. Show / Hide Presentation Layout Micronutrients

This toggle will only take effect if you turn on the [Presentation Layout](#2.-show-hide-presentation-layout). Since the default view is macronutrients, this toggle button will allow you to view the micronutrients.&#x20;

#### 4. Macronutrient Information Toggles

These toggle buttons allow you to view the other macronutrient information for your analysis.&#x20;

#### 5. Apply button

After completing changes in the view setting, click the "Apply" button to apply the changes.

### New Presentation Layout

This layout is also known as Steve's Presentation Layout. Turning on this view will change the [Nutrients Tab Sections](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#nutrients-section).

#### Macronutrients

By default, it will show the macronutrients. In the Macronutrients View, the tab sections are Macronutrients, Protein, Fat, and Carbohydrates. These sections are shown in Item 2 in the Image below.

Clicking the toggle button from Item 1 in the image above will show the Macronutrients.

#### Micronutrients

When in the Micronutrients view, the new tab sections are Minerals, Vitamins, and Other.

# Export

Export your recipe as a ".adf" file to share with others. They can Import the same recipe into their Animal Diet Formulator software.

To export the recipe, click the "Export" menu item from the [Formulation Menu](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#formulation-menu-section) Section.

Clicking the button will open the System File Dialog to identify the location where you want to save the exported file.


# Import

Import recipe files (.adf) from other Animal Diet Formulator users into your Animal Diet Formulator.

To start importing recipes, go to Main Menu by clicking the similar icon below.

Then click the Recipes menu item from the Main Menu.

From the Recipes page, import the recipe file. Click the "Import" button as shown in the image below.&#x20;

Clicking the "Import" button will show the System File Dialog which will allow you to locate the Animal Diet Formulator exported file (".adf" file).&#x20;

After selecting the file, the system will verify the file based on the below conditions:

* The file contains a valid data structure.
* The current user is allowed to create another pet.&#x20;
* The current user is allowed to create another recipe.
* The current user is allowed to create an ingredient if there is a custom ingredient in the recipe
* The current user is allowed to create measurements if there is a custom measurement used in the recipe.

If all conditions are valid, a pop-up containing the recipe information, ingredients, and desired percentages is shown for confirmation.&#x20;

Clicking the "Import" button at the bottom right of the pop-up will import the recipe and redirect you to the imported recipe.


# Cooking Method

Apply a cooking method to a recipe.

The software currently supports five Cooking Methods. These methods are Freeze-Dried, Dehydrated, Gently-Cooked, ADF Cooking, and Baked.&#x20;

Below are the areas where you can apply the cooking methods:

#### 1. Creating or Updating the Recipe

While creating or updating the recipe, you can configure the recipe if you want to apply a cooking method.&#x20;

1. Cooking Method
   * Click the field to show options for cooking methods.&#x20;
2. Retained Moisture
   * Provide the retained moisture to apply the Freeze-Dried and Dehydrated Cooking methods.

#### 2. Nutrients Section while Formulating

While formulating you can change the Cooking Method in the [Nutrients Section](/animal-diet-formulator/recipes/formulation#nutrients-section).

* Cooking Method
  * Click the field to show options for cooking methods.&#x20;
* Retained Moisture
  * Provide the retained moisture to apply the Freeze-Dried and Dehydrated Cooking methods.


# Weight Loss Analysis

Analyze the Recipe for Weight Loss purpose.

To activate the weight loss sections, be sure to provide the required information below.

1. Current Weight
   * Enter the pet's current weight based on the selected unit (LB/KG).
2. Desired Weight
   * Enter the pet's desired weight based on the selected unit (LB/KG).
3. Weight Loss toggle
   * This toggle will be available if values exist and more than 0 for the Current Weight and Desired Weight fields.

Once the Weight Loss toggle is turned on, the "Weight loss" section in the Macronutrients tab will be available. See the image below.

1. Weight Loss %/Wk
   * Provide the percentage of weight loss per week that you want to analyze.&#x20;
2. k Factor value
   * This row will turn to red once the value is below the minimum required k Factor for Weight Loss.

The micronutrient columns will also adjust once the Weight Loss toggle is turned on.&#x20;

# Settings

Software Settings, Helpful Links and Education Sections can be found at this page.

To access the settings page, go to the Main Menu by clicking the icon as shown below.

Then click the Settings menu item from the Main Menu.

After clicking the menu item, you will be redirected to the settings page. The page contains 5 sections.&#x20;

#### Education Section

In this section, there is a list of links related to Animal Diet Formulator Software. These links are helpful in learning how to use the Software.&#x20;

In this section, you can update all the stored information by clicking the refresh icon indicated in Item 1 in the image below.&#x20;

By default, all the information inside the versions section is hidden. Click the arrow icon indicated in Item 2 to show/hide the content of this section.

#### How to use Color Picker

1. Color Preview
   * This circle shows the currently selected color.
2. Hue Selector
   * Change the hue by dragging the white circle to the left or right.
3. Format Selector
   * Change the color format from RGB to HSV or HSL
4. Hex Code Input
   * Change the color by providing the Hex Code Value of the color.
5. Use Button
   * Click the button to use the currently selected color.

How to hard refresh your browser and clear your cache

### For Chrome

**Chrome (Windows)**

To hard refresh on Google Chrome on Windows, there are two ways you can do it:

1. Hold down Ctrl and click the Reload button.
2. Hold down Ctrl, Shift, and press R.
3. Hold down Ctrl and press F5.
4. Clear the cookies as well by following the below steps:
   * Go to the site on the webpage
   * On the URL bar above, click the **Site Info** icon — it is located to the left of the website address
   * Click **Site Settings**
   * Chrome opens a settings page for that site, confirm that you are on the app.animaldietformulator.com site
   * On the **Usage** section, click '**Delete data'** to remove all cookies for the site

**Chrome (Mac)**

To do a hard refresh on Google Chrome on Mac, there are two ways that you can do it:

1. Hold down Shift and click the Reload button.
2. Hold down Command, Shift, and click the ‘R’ key.
3. Clear the cookies as well by following the below steps:
   * Go to the site on the webpage
   * On the URL bar above, click the **Site Info** icon — it is located to the left of the website address
   * Click **Site Settings**
   * Chrome opens a settings page for that site, confirm that you are on the app.animaldietformulator.com site
   * On the **Usage** section, click '**Delete data'** to remove all cookies for the site

**Chrome (iPad, iPhone)**

To do a hard refresh and clear cookies on Google Chrome on iPad, follow the below steps:

1. Go to the site you want to hard refresh
2. Tap the **three dots** menu on the top-right
3. Tap **Settings** > **Privacy and Security** > **Delete browsing data**
4. Select Time Range as **All time**
5. Tap **Browsing data**
6. Select **Browsing history** and **Cached images and files** (you may select more if needed, if you want to clear cookies, select **Cookies** as well)
7. Tap **Confirm**
8. Tap **Delete data**

### For Firefox

**Firefox (Windows)**

To hard refresh Firefox on Windows, there are also two easy hotkey commands you can use:

1. Hold down Ctrl, Shift, and the ‘**R**’ key.
2. Hold down Ctrl and press **F5**.
3. Clear the cookies as well by following the below steps:
   * Click the **three horizontal lines** in the top-right corner
   * Select **Settings** (or **Options**)
   * In the left sidebar, click **Privacy & Security**
   * Scroll to **Cookies and Site Data**
   * Click **Manage Data...**
   * In the search box, type the name of the site whose cookies and cache you want to clear
   * Select the site from the list
   * Click **Remove Selected**
   * Click **Save Changes**
   * Confirm by clicking **Clear Now** in the prompt

**Firefox (Mac)**

To hard refresh Firefox on Mac, there are also two easy vital combinations that you can use:

1. Hold down Command, Shift, and the ‘**R**’ key.
2. Hold down Shift and press the reload button.
3. Clear the cookies as well by following the below steps:
   * Click **Firefox** in the top menu bar (next to the Apple logo), then select **Preferences**
   * In the left sidebar, go to **Privacy & Security**
   * Scroll down to **Cookies and Site Data**
   * Click **Manage Data...**
   * In the popup, search for the website name
   * Select the site(s) you want
   * Click **Remove Selected**, then **Save Changes**
   * Click **Clear Now** again to confirm

### For Safari

**Safari (Mac)**

The steps are to clear the cache and reload the browser.

1. Hold down the option and command key then press the ‘**E**’ key to clear the cache.
2. Then reload the page using the steps below
   * Click the Reload icon.
   * or Hold down Command and the  ‘**R**’ key.
3. Clear the cookies as well by following the below steps
   * Open Safari Settings: Click on the Safari icon in your top Dock and select '**Settings**.'
   * Go to the **Privacy** Tab: Click on the '**Privacy'** tab.&#x20;
   * Manage Website Data: Click on the '**Manage Website Data'** button.&#x20;
   * Search or Filter: Use the search bar or filters to find animaldietformulator.com websites.&#x20;
   * Remove Data: Select the website to clear data and click the '**Remove**' button.

**Safari (iPad, iPhone)**

To do a hard refresh and clear cookies on Safari on iPad, follow the below steps:

1. Open **Settings** on your device
2. Go to **Apps** > **Safari** > **Advanced** > **Website Data**
3. Find the website and swipe left to **Delete** or tap **Edit** > remove it

**Microsoft Edge (Windows)**

To hard refresh Edge on Windows, you can do either of these shortcut keys:

1. Hold down Ctrl key and press **F5**
2. Hold down Shift key and press **F5**
3. Hold down Ctrl and Shift key and press '**R**'
4. Clear the cookies as well by following the below steps:
   * Click the **three dots** in the top-right corner
   * Go to **Settings**
   * Click **Cookies and site permissions** on the sidebar
   * Click **Manage cookies**
   * Use the search bar to find the specific site
   * Click the **trash can icon** next to it to delete its cookies and data

**Microsoft Edge (Mac)**

To hard refresh Edge on Windows, you can do either of these shortcut keys:

1. Hold down Command key, and Shift key, and press '**R**'
2. Hold down Shift key and press **F5**
3. Hold down Shift key and click the **Reload button** in the browser toolbar
4. Clear the cookies as well by following the below steps:
   * Click the **three dots** in the top-right corener
   * Go to **Settings**
   * Click **Cookies and site permissions** on the sidebar
   * Click **Manage cookies**
   * Use the search bar to find the specific site
   * Click the **trash can icon** next to it to delete its cookies and data

### For Internet Explorer

**Internet Explorer:**

To hard refresh IE, there is one simple way to do it:

1. Hold the Control key, and press the **F5** key.
2. Or, hold the Control key, and click the Refresh button.
3. Clear the cookies as well by following the below steps:
   * Click the **gear icon** on the top right corner, or press Alt and **X**
   * Select **Internet Options**
   * Under the **General** tab, in the **Browsing history** section, click **Delete...**
   * In the **Delete Browsing History** window, check **Cookies and website data** (you can uncheck others if you want to keep things like saved passwords)
   * Click **Delete**
   * Click **OK** to close the Internet Options window

*Note: **Internet Explorer** is deprecated and lacks modern privacy tools. Consider using other browsers for better cookie control and security.*

# Exporting XHR

This section outlines the step-by-step process for exporting XHR logs which are essential in helping our technical support team investigate and resolve issues you may be experiencing.

### Using Google Chrome

1. Navigate to the app <https://app.animaldietformulator.com/dashboard>. Allow the application to fully load, or until you encounter the screen or issue where it gets stuck. This step is important to help capture the state of the application at the time the issue occurs.

2. Once you are on the screen where the issue is occurring, right-click anywhere on the page. From the context menu that appears, select **"Inspect"** This will open the Developers Tool panel, which allows you to access the technical details needed for troubleshooting.

3. In the Developer Tools panel that appears, locate and click on the **"Network"** tab. Once you're in the Network tab, look for the **Export** or **Download** button— *see screenshot for reference (2)* — click on this button to download a **.har** file, which contains the logs. Once downloaded, send us the **.har** file so our technical team can analyze the issue further.

### Using Safari

1. When using Safari, first we need to ensure that the Developer Tools is enabled in your browser. At the top-left of the screen, click on **Safari** in the menu bar. From the dropdown menu, select **"Settings"** or **"Preferences"**&#x20;

2. In the Settings window that appears, navigate to the **"Advanced"** tab. Scroll to the bottom of the panel, and check the box labeled **"Show features for web developers"** or **"Show Develop menu in menu bar"**, depending on your version

# Technical Support Access

The following information provides details on how the ADF Technical Support team can use TeamViewer to access, control, and troubleshoot their devices.

1. The communication will happen through ADF Support Tickets and TeamViewer note once connected.
2. &#x20;The customers must download and run the TeamViewer application on their computers. Below are the links to download for Windows and Mac users.
   * **For Windows Users:**
     * Download through this link <https://www.teamviewer.com/en-mea/download/windows/>
     * Download the 64Bit Quick Support.
   * **For MacOS Users:**
     * Download through this link <https://www.teamviewer.com/en-mea/download/macos/>
     * Download the Quick Support.
3. Once downloaded, the customer needs to run the TeamViewer application and share the ID and password provided by the TeamViewer application in the Support Tickets at the agreed date and time of support.
4. The ADF Technical Support team will then connect to the users' devices, and they need to allow or accept the connection request.
5. Once connected with their devices, the technical support team can communicate directly through the TeamViewer note feature and control the device.
