# Measurements

Animal Diet Formulator has default units for adding ingredients which are Kilograms, Grams, Pounds, and Ounces. More units will be added soon. This section will allow you to extend the measurements that you can use.&#x20;

### Measurements List

To start managing your measurements, you can go to Main Menu by clicking the similar icon below.

Then click the Measurements menu item from the Main Menu.

From the Measurements page, you can now create, update or delete your custom measurements.&#x20;

### Filter the Measurements

The filter feature to search for measurements that you want to update or delete. Click the filter button similar to the image below.

The filter form will be available for you to modify the default filter settings.

The filter form contains the following fields.

1. Search&#x20;
   * This field will look for the term in the measurement's name.
2. Owner Type
   * Clicking the field will show the options for Owners. The options are ADF or Personal. Selecting Personal will show the measurements that you created.&#x20;
3. Sorting
   * Using this sorting, you can sort the items based on the selected field available.
4. Sorting Direction
   * This will control the direction of sorting the selected information at the sorting field.
5. Reset
   * Clicking this button will reset all the changes made.
6. Set Filter
   * Clicking this button will apply the preferred filters.

### Creating Measurements

Start creating your measurements by clicking the **New** button at the top left corner of the page.&#x20;

When creating the measurements, you need to provide the details mentioned in the form below.

1. Unit Name
   * Required. Provide a Complete Name for your unit. (e. g. Teaspoon)&#x20;
2. Unit Short Name
   * Required. Provide the short name of your unit. (e. g. tsp).
3. Amount
   * Required. Provide the amount or weight based on the Conversion Unit.
4. Conversion Unit
   * Required. This will be the unit where the amount will be based. Options are the measurements available as a source.
5. Save Button
   * Click the button to Save the Measurement's Details

### Updating Measurements

To update the measurement information. You need to be on the Measurements Page. To go to the measurements page, follow the steps mentioned [here.](#measurements-list)

When you are on the measurements page, you can see the list of the pets that you created. Click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu). See the image below.

After clicking the horizontal dots icon, you can click the update button to view the form.

The same creating new Measurements form will show up with pre-filled information based on the item that you want to update. See the image below.

After updating the field that you want to modify, click the save button at the bottom right part of the form.

### Deleting Measurements

You can delete measurements that you are not using.

To delete measurements, you need to be on the Measurements Page. To go to the page, follow the steps mentioned [here](#measurements-list).

When you are on the measurements page, you can see the list of created measurements. Click the three horizontal dots icon (known as Item Menu) to show the action options. See the image below.

After clicking the horizontal dots icon, you can click the delete button to remove the measurement.

After clicking the delete button, there will be a confirmation pop-up that will require your attention before we remove the measurement. See the image below.&#x20;
